A dream turned into ambition
JM Akbar is the founder and CEO of BJIT Group. He is a citizen of Bangladesh and has been a meritorious IT student to get a scholarship for studying in Japan. He moved to Japan in his early 20s. After studying the Japanese language and Computer Engineering and becoming fluent in Japanese, he embarked on an interesting journey in the IT profession.
During his career, he met the President of Sony Corporation, Kunitake Ando, and worked closely to expand the sales of Sony’s VAIO laptops. As he observed the growth and success of the Indian IT services industry in 2000, Akbar realized that Bangladesh, a country of 160 million people with growing numbers of engineering graduates who are fluent in English, could emulate this success.
Akbar started his business by placing a small group of top Bangladeshi engineering graduates and formed BJIT with a management board of IT professionals. In the last two decades, the company has grown into a globally renowned IT services company in Bangladesh. BJIT is now operating in seven countries with over 950 engineers working with a client from prominent Japanese and European companies.
BJIT at a Glance
In 2001, BJIT was formed with only 10 engineers who had the passion to take local talents to global platforms. Eventually, the dedication and efficient performance helped to build trust among the clients. BJIT resumed its global journey and onboarded more talented IT enthusiasts who joined the company with an ambitious and proactive mindset. The team grew into hundreds and the number increased with the inclusion of Bangladeshi engineers who were globally certified and contributed to our international branches.
We have currently 950+ engineers working dedicatedly in our offshore team and they are highly qualified in real-time working experiences and have recognised IT certification. Our engineers are professionally competent to provide IT services with global standards.
